1. You contact us

For Personal Chef service in your home, phone (403-337-2665) or email The Homestead Chef. We'll discuss the service and arrange to meet in person for a detailed assessment. (top)

2. We meet for an assessment

When we meet, we will review:

  • the types of foods you like - right down to the ingredient level. You'll never eat the foods you dislike or are physically intolerant of.

  • how you like your food prepared

  • how you prefer to heat meals (microwave, conventional oven, boil-in-bag)

  • any dietary restrictions or preferences you may have

These details allow us to prepare a menu that is designed specifically for your personal needs. If you are ready to go ahead we will also schedule a cook date, and we'll receive payment. (top)

3. You approve the menu

Some clients prefer to approve menus, while others leave it up to the Personal Chef's discretion based on the assessment. We can submit a menu for your approval, either via email or fax. This will be the menu for the meals we make on your service date, and will include entrées and side dishes. (top)

4. We cook

On the dates we set, we shop for the fresh ingredients required to create your menu, take them to our approved commercial kitchen and prepare the approved menu (usually 4 or 5 entrees with side dishes).

These will be chilled, placed in containers, and labeled for easy identification. We'll make sure you have heating instructions for each meal. (top)

(5.) You enjoy!

In the morning (or the night before), take the meal from the freezer and put it in the refrigerator to thaw. When you get home, after a hard day's work, dinner's ready in 15 minutes.

We can schedule regular service dates based on how often you finish your stock of meals. This helps ensure that you are neither overstocked or starving at the next service date! (top)
